The first watch that ever went into Space was naturally carried by the first man in Space: Yuri Gagarine, on the 12th of april, 1961, in his capsul Vostok 1. The brand was « Sturmanskie » (ШТУРМАНСКИЕ), that means « Navigator ».

This Sturmanskie had been produced with tool coming from LIP R26 celiber, bought by Soviet Union and modified to central sweeping second hand, with the hacking second function. The dial has also been modified.

The brand took later the name of "Poljot"  (полёт).
